Zoom to Selection (Interface)

Select a range and Zoom to Selection fills the whole screen with exactly those cells.

Fill the Screen With What Matters

Instead of guessing a zoom percentage, select the range you care about and let Excel work out the number for you.

Select a range — The cells you want to see
View ▸ Zoom to Selection — One button
It fills the screen — Excel calculates the zoom

How to do it

Select the range ▸ View tab ▸ Zoom group ▸ Zoom to Selection

Use View ▸ 100% to get straight back to normal after zooming to a selection.

100% button	Returns to normal

Select A1:H30 ▸ View ▸ Zoom to Selection

Ideal for presenting one table on a projector without fiddling with percentages.

Do this

Select a whole table before using it
Use View ▸ 100% to return
Great for showing one table on a projector

Avoid

Zooming to a single cell by accident
Forgetting how to get back to 100%
Using it instead of Freeze Panes

📌 Zoom to Selection on a single cell will magnify it enormously. Select a sensible block.

Practice

Select a table and use Zoom to Selection.
Return to 100% with the View tab.
